Appointment orders given to 138

Mayor G. Thenmozhi gave appointment orders to 138 persons on compassionate grounds on Thursday. A statement said that the appointments came in the wake of the Government lifting the ban on recruitment. In the first phase on Thursday, appointment letters were given for the posts of two junior assistants, 71 unskilled workers and 65 sanitary workers. Commissioner D.J. Dhinakaran, Deputy Mayor P. M. Mannan and North Zone chairman K. Esakkimuthu were among those who were present at a function held for the purpose.
