Srikrishnan-Narashimhan duo wins

CHENNAI: R. Srikrishnan and A.K. Narashimhan won the weekly pairs event at T. Nagar Social Club here on Thursday with a score of 64.85 playing North-South.

G. Srinivasan and V. Krishnan won from the East-West direction with a score of 59.38.

The results: North-South: 1. R. Srikrishnan & A.K. Narashimhan; 2. K. Natarajan & T.T. Chary; 3. Narayana Iyer & R.N. Subramanian.

East-West: 1. G. Srinivasan & V. Krishnan; 2. V. Suri & Kumar; 3. C.V. Kumar & S. Ganesan.

Carrom championship

The Kancheepuram District Carrom Training Centre will host the district Carrom championship on December 13, 14, 20 and 21 at its premises in Alandur, in senior singles, Open doubles, non-medallist singles and junior singles categories.

The tournament is open to associates of the Kancheepuram District Carrom Association.

Entry fee is Rs. 50 for singles, Rs. 75 for doubles and Rs. 25 for juniors. Entries should reach the KDCA by 5 p.m., December 7.

Chess championship postponed

Incessant rain has prompted the Thiruvallur District Chess Association to postpone the Jaya rolling trophies chess championship scheduled at Jaya MHSS in Thiruninravur, Chennai, from November 28 and 29 to December 26 and 27.

TNCA matches postponed

The TNCA league matches scheduled to be played on Saturday and Sunday (November 29 and 30) have been postponed due to inclement weather.

Govt. pension

Outstanding sportspersons who have attained 58 years of age and earn not more than Rs. 2,000 per month are eligible for Government monthly pension through the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu.

Those desirous of seeking the pension must apply on specified application forms which are available (cost Rs. 10) with the various District Sports Officers.
