‘Silent protest’ by Congress
HYDERABAD: Congress party workers on Thursday held a silent protest at Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Gandhi Bhavan premises to protest against the terror attack on Mumbai that left over 100 dead.
Gagging their mouth with black ribbons, Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress cadres paid floral tributes to the slain police officers in Wednesday night’s attack. They were later joined by former PCC chief K. Keshava Rao, APCC general secretaries and official spokesperson B. Kamalakar Rao.
Dr. Keshava Rao termed the incident as international conspiracy to derail the peace in the country.
He said the time has come for all the political parties to arrive at a consensus to tackle terrorism that threatened to disturb the secular fabric of the country.
