Two RTO staff held in Theni

Rs.8,300 unaccounted cash seized
|
Theni: Police arrested two persons, including a woman brake inspector, at a check post in Lower Camp attached to the Regional Transport Office and seized Rs.8,300 in cash here on Thursday.
Following specific information that some staff members were allegedly demanding bribe from motorists, a special team from the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption swung into action.
During the raid, they seized unaccounted cash of Rs.8,300 from the staff.
They were arrested and taken for further interrogation, police added.
