SHIMOGA: Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) staged a demonstration here on Thursday condemning the terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The activists took out a procession from Sri Vidya Bharati College and gathered at Gopi Circle where they burnt an effigy. State secretary of the ABVP Shashikumar said that the Centre was unable to check the menace of terrorism. He urged the Congress to give up its “vote bank” politics and take steps to curb terrorism. He demanded that Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil resign owning moral responsibility for the terrorist attacks. — Staff Correspondent
