NEW DELHI: Ukrainian Grandmaster Alexander Areshchenko heads the confirmed list of 22 Grandmasters for the 7th Parsvnath International Open chess tournament beginning here on January 10. Never before has the country hosted as many GMs in an international Open. The annual event that offers a prize-money of Rs. 11.50 lakhs — highest ever for any international Open held in the country — will see eight Indian GMs including National champion Surya Shekhar Ganguly, Parimarjan Negi and the veteran duo of Dibyendu Barua and Pravin Thipsay. The confirmed list of Grandmasters: Alexander Areshchenko, Yuriy Kuzubov, Yuri Solodovnichenko (Ukraine), Surya Shekhar Ganguly, Parimarjan Negi, Abhijeet Kunte, Dibyendu Barua, Magesh Chandran, Deepan Chakkravarthy, Neelotpal Das, Pravin Thipsay (India), Evgeny Gleizerov, Mikhail Ulibin (Russia), Shukhrat Safin, Saidali Yuldashev (Uzbekistan), Anuar Ismagambetov, Nurlan Ibrayev (Kazakhstan), Elizbar Ubilava (Spain), Vitaly Kunin (Germany), Sapar Batyrov (Turkey), Vinay Bhat (USA) and Niaz Murshed (Bangladesh). — Special Correspondent
