‘Leave statehood issue to high command’
HYDERABAD: Congress Member of Parliament K. Keshava Rao opines that it is better to leave the issue of separate Telangana to the high command and wait for its decision.
Mr. Keshava Rao said at a press conference here on Thursday that he was optimistic that the high command would take a positive decision on the issue. “Let us leave the issue to the high command and wait its decision,” he said when questioned about the the Chief Minister favouring a second States Reorganisation Commission. He pointed out that there was no need for Parliament to clear the decision on constitution of SRC. “A Cabinet decision is enough,” . On possible alliance with TRS, he said Congress party’s doors were always open. “We will not hesitate to go with parties that like our programmes and leadership,” he added.
At a separate press conference, APCC spokespersons N. Tulasi Reddy and B. Kamalakar Rao ridiculed the TDP-Left alliance. It made it clear that they could not face the Congress individually.
