PUDUCHERRY: The government, through an order, has restricted the use of red lights with flasher on top of the vehicle of the Lieutenant Governor, the Chief Minister, the Speaker, the Deputy Speaker, Ministers, the Government Whip, the Parliamentary Secretary to the Chief Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. Red light without flasher could be used only by the Chief Secretary, the Collector, the Chief Judge, the Director-General of Police and the Regional Administrator, the order said. When the officials were not travelling in the vehicle, the red light had to be covered with a black cover, a release said.
