Thiruvananthapuram: The State Bank of Travancore’s Malayalam Literary-Media Awards 2008 have been announced. The winners are Ambikasuthan Mangad for ‘Rathri’ in the short story category, M.R. Renukumar for ‘Veshakkaya’ in the poetry category, Salih Kakkodi for ‘Aaradi manninte avakashikal’ published in the Madhyamam daily in the human interest story category, Surya Benoy, National Law University, Jodhpur, Rajasthan for ‘Pennu/Puzha’ in the campus poetry category and Amal Raja Ravi Varma, Fine Arts College, Mavelikara, the consolation prize in the campus short story category. – Special Correspondent
