Awards for 4 co-op societies in Tiruchi

TIRUCHI: Four cooperative societies from Tiruchi region have bagged State awards in the recently concluded 55th All-India Cooperative Week Celebrations.

Tiruchi District Cooperative Union, Tiruchi Institute of Cooperative Management, Thanneerpandal Women Milk Producers’ Cooperative Society and the Venkatachalapuram Adi Dravidar Brick Workers Industrial Cooperative Society are the winners.

Minister for Cooperation Ko. Si. Mani distributed the awards to these societies during the valediction of the celebrations held at Villupuram recently.

The Tiruchi Station of the All India Radio was selected for a special award for broadcasting more programmes on cooperation movement and the activities of the cooperative bodies.

Transport Minister K. N. Nehru congratulated the cooperative bodies of the district.
