NEW DELHI: Magesh Devraj beat World champion Yogesh Pardeshi 10-25, 25-22, 25-10 as Indian Audit and Accounts got past Petroleum Sports Promotion Board 2-1 in the men’s semifinals of the 10th National inter-institutional carrom championship here on Wednesday. Indian Audit and Accounts will meet Indian Airlines in the men’s final and Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in the women’s final. The results (semifinals): Men: Indian Audit and Accounts beat Petroleum Sports Promotion Board 2-1 (Magesh Devraj bt Yogesh Pardeshi 10-25, 25-22, 25-10; P. Sasidharan bt K. Ramesh Babu 25-5, 25-0; Raju Bhaisare & Dilip Kale lost to Sandeep Deorukhkar & Ashok Gaur 23-25, 16-25); Indian Airlines beat LIC 2-1 (M. Nataraj bt Prakash Gaikwad 25-4, 8-25, 25-11; Md. H. Ansari bt Zaheer Ahmed 25-3, 22-25, 25-0; A. Maria Irudayam & E. Magimairaj lost to Surujuddin & Sagir Ahmed 5-25, 8-25). Women: Indian Audit and Accounts beat Reserve Bank of India 3-0 (R. Sharmila bt Sangita Chandorkar 25-10, 0-25, 25-18; D. Swarnalatha bt Kavita Somanchi 25-22, 25-20; Rashmi Ranjan & Radhika bt Shobhavati Kumari & R. Sarita 24-25, 25-0, 25-15); LIC beat BSNL 2-1 (S. Apoorva lost to Rashmi Kumari 9-25, 5-25; P. Nirmala bt B. Rama 25-12, 25-15; Shilpa Joshi & N. Mythili bt Bharati Medhi & Mangalamani 25-4, 25-13).
