Independent judiciary essential: Dinakaran

BANGALORE: The Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court P.D. Dinakaran on Wednesday said an independent judiciary is necessary if the rule of the law is to be upheld.

He was speaking at the Law Day celebrations organised by the Advocates Association of Bangalore and the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA) on the High Court premises. He recalled the selfless and dedicated contribution of those who had drafted the Constitution. Executive Chairman of KSLSA and senior High Court Judge V. Gopala Gowda urged the younger members of the Bar to join hands to protect the Constitutional institutions in the country.
