WGC to be shopping fete sponsor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The London-based World Gold Council (WGC) has agreed to become the sponsor of the Grand Kerala Shopping Festival.
Its vice-president, K.Sivram said here on Wednesday that it would convert Kerala into the best shopping centre of the world in the coming days.
He said the World Gold Council had watched last year’s festival and found it to be a healthy venture.
It had led to a sizeable increase in tax revenue.
Even those who had kept away from the festival last time were participating in it enthusiastically this time. He welcomed the change that was taking place in Kerala’s concept of development.
Festival director K.N. Satheesh described the development as a matter of pride.
