Kochi: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed the Registrar-General of the High Court to make alterations to the National emblem mounted in front of the High Court complex by inscribing the motto ‘Satyameva Jayate’ in Devanagari script below the profile of the Lion Capital. The Bench comprising Justice J.B. Koshy and Justice Thomas P. Joseph gave the directive while allowing a public interest writ petition filed by Kalarcode Venugopalan Nair. Petition rejectedA Bench comprising Justice P.R. Raman and Justice M.R. Ramachandran Nair on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by four Keezh Santhis (assistant priests) of the Guruvayur temple challenging their suspension. They were placed under suspension following complaints regarding detection of cigarette butts in the ‘nivedyam’ distributed to a devotee. Though they were appointed by virtue of customs or hereditary right, it could not be said that there was no employee-employer relationship. The petitioners had said that the devaswom had no right to suspend them, as they were not employed by the devaswom. Abhaya caseJustice K. Hema adjourned to December 4 the bail petition filed by Sister Sephy, the third accused in the Abhaya murder case.
