Teenager admitted to hospital with burns dies

CHENNAI: A teenager, who suffered burns and was admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital, succumbed to injuries on Monday night.

Police said U. Venkatesan (17) of Water Tank Road, Ayanavaram, was flying a kite on a playground in the neighbourhood on Sunday when it got stuck at an electrical post. When he tried to remove the kite, the victim came in contact with electricity and was thrown away.

The Ayanavaram police have registered a case.
