Rs. 25 lakh released for construction of storm water drain in Dandeli

Karwar: A sum of Rs. 25 lakh has been released to construct a 300-ft long storm water drain in the Haliyal Bridge area of Dandeli, Haliyal MLA Suneel Hegde has said.

He was chairing a meeting of officials of different departments and municipal councillors on development works to be taken up in Dandeli on Monday. Additional funds for construction of the drain, if needed, would be released, he said.

Mr. Hegde said that Rs. 2 crore had been released for development of Haliyal-Dharwad road and Rs. 1 crore for development of Haliyal-Dandeli road. He promised that funds would be mobilised from Dandeli paper factory and MP and MLA local area development funds for beautification of roads in the town. Haliyal-Kudalasangama road was being developed with the assistance of the World Bank, Mr. Hegde said.
