Hyderabad beats TN

VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad’s Shalini (67) and Gouhar Sultana (three for 29) helped their team register a 39-run win over Tamil Nadu in the South Zone senior women’s one-day cricket tournament at Anantapur.

In the other matches, Andhra scored a 70-run win over Kerala, while Karnataka defeated Goa by 89 runs.

The scores: Hyderabad 215 for 7 in 50 overs (Shalini 67, Revathi 43) bt Tamil Nadu 176 in 48.2 overs (T. Kamini 62, Gouhar Sultana three for 29).

Andhra 131 in 48.3 overs (Asha three for 19) bt Kerala 61 in 39.2 overs (Shilpa Chandran four for 11, Monika Sai four for 13).

Karnataka 223 for 4 in 50 overs (Karuna Jain 79, Sindhu Ashok 49, Vanitha 47 n.o.) bt Goa 134 for seven in 50 overs (Shika Pandey 71, Shilpa Batra three for eight, Veda Krishnamurthy three for 26). — Principal Correspondent.
