BANGALORE: The equine influenza which has struck Pune and Mumbai, has not touched Bangalore according to Mr. Nirmal Prasad, secretary of the Bangalore Turf Club. Mr. Prasad said: “though a few horses were having fever, it was only a normal one and were under treatment”.

Meanwhile, about 40 horses were found to have fever at Mysore and Mr. Anantharaj Urs, secretary of the Mysore Race Club, said: “it seems to be normal fever only and we are constantly monitoring the situation and the horses have been kept in three different stables and we will know about the exact condition in the next 48 hours.” It is, however learnt that about 20-odd horses have been infected by viral fever at Kunigal Stud Farm, about 70 km from Bangalore.
