Equine flu contained in Pune
Mumbai: The equine influenza which threw the Mumbai racing season out of gear for two months seems to be contained at Pune.
Mr. Vivek S. Jain, Chairman, Marketing & Media Committee of RWITC said: “It’s good news for all racing enthusiasts that the equine influenza is over now and hopefully the Mumbai season may start in mid January. There is no new case of viral infection reported from the stables in Pune.”
He further said that “around 75 horses have started trotting in the bund schools and have shown significant improvement. The horses will take a month’s time to recover and once they are ready for fast work we are going to closely monitor the progress of the horses and then they will be shifted to Mumbai.”
