Court seeks steps to check animal sacrifice

Bangalore: A Division Bench of the Karnataka High Court comprising Justice S.R. Bannurmath and Justice A.N. Venugopala Gowda on Tuesday sought to know from the State Government the steps teh Governm,ent had initiated to check animal sacrifices in temples and other places of worship.

The Division Bench made this observation when it was dealing with a contempt petition filed by the Akhila Karnataka Pranidaya Sangha against the Government for failing to take effective steps to prevent or check animal sacrifice.

Submitted

The sangha submitted a set of 4 CDs and photographs to substantiate its claim that animal sacrifice was still going on.
