Jayalalithaa seeks Raja’s resignation

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Tuesday demanded the resignation of Union Minister for Communication and Information Technology A. Raja for “allotting 2G Spectrum for mobile services on a first-come-first-served basis rather than going for a global auction.”

Reacting to Mr Raja’s assertion that that he was prepared to resign if he was proved guilty, Ms. Jayalalithaa in a statement said if he was genuine he should first resign and submit himself to a probe.

“Who has to prove him guilty? The media? The Opposition? The investigating agencies? Or the courts of law? Once all these agencies have found him guilty where is the question of Raja’s resignation?” she asked. — Special Correspondent
