Business English speaking contest

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Anyone with global business aspirations knows that honing their skills in English, which is still the dominant language of international business communication, is important.

The University of Cambridge ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Examinations is now offering attractive rewards to students who excel in this key skill.

The national finals of the institution’s Business English Speaking Contest will be held on November 29 in Chennai, with 24 students and young professionals competing to win a place in the Asian finals in Singapore. The finalists have been selected from the 53 colleges that took part in the preliminary stages.

The winner of the international competition will be offered a scholarship and living allowance to pursue an MBA from the University of Newcastle, Australia, taught on the campus of the PSB Academy in Singapore. Two other winners will be offered a one week financial course at the London Metropolitan University, while two others will be offered a 4-week business communication course at Phoenix Academy, Australia.
