Narrow win for Gowri CC
VISAKHAPATNAM: Gowri CC upset Visakhapatnam Port Sports Council by seven runs in the first round of DRM Trophy invitation cricket tournament at the Railway Stadium, here on Monday.
Sports XI scored a 59-run win over DRM XI in the inaugural match.
Additional DRM C.S. Jeengar inaugurated the tournament.
The scores: Gowri CC 212 for five in 30 overs (S. Tabresh 49) bt VPSC 195 for eight in 30 overs (Jaya Kumar 67, Krishna Mohan 43, Praveen four for 35); Sports XI 200 for seven in 25 overs (Sunil 52, Pavan 46) bt DRM XI 141 in 25 overs.
