Awareness through telemedicine facility

CHENNAI: An awareness programme on breast cancer for people living in the city and distant towns such as Rameswaram and Krishnagiri was conducted through the telemedicine facility at the Government Royapettah Hospital here on Monday.

Inaugurating the programme, organised on the occasion of a year of active telemedicine service in the hospital, Chief Secretary K.S.Sripathi emphasised the need for creating awareness about cancer and its early detection. Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, V.K.Subburaj spoke on steps taken by the government on cancer awareness. Director of Medical Education S.Vinayagam and Superintendent of the hospital K. Rajendran participated.
