Painter electrocuted

CHENNAI: A painter was electrocuted when he came in contact with electricity at Thiruvanmiyur on Sunday night.

Police said A. Ravichandran (42) of Subbu Street was returning home when he accidentally fell on a roadside transformer. He suffered burns and died on the spot. The Thiruvanmiyur police have registered a case.

In another case, A. Saddam Hussein (17) of Nolambur who was distributing newspapers in the Mogappair East area early on Monday came in contact with a live wire and died on the spot, police added.
