Four law students arrested

CHENNAI: Four students of the Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College here were arrested in connection with a case last year in which a police official was injured.

Police said C. Kannadasan (24) of Ponneri, P. Pitchaipillai (28) of Ariyalur, A. Dhanasekaran (21) of Kancheepuram and S. Panchavarnam (28) of Villupuram were arrested by the Kilpauk police. On October 10, 2007, the accused were part of group that attacked police at the students’ hostel injuring an Assistant Commissioner of Police and others.

The four were produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody, police added.
