Forgery case transferred to CB-CID

MADURAI: The Madras High Court Bench here on Monday transferred investigation into a cheating-cum-forgery case registered against Sangaiah, former Managing Trustee of Irukangudi Mairamman temple in Virudhunagar district,

and his son S. Ramar to the Crime Branch-Criminal Investigation Department.

Justice G. Rajasuria passed the orders while allowing a writ petition filed by R. Soundarajan Poosari who was the managing trustee of the temple between 1999 and 2001. The petitioner claimed that the accused had swindled Rs.15.9 lakh from the temple account by forging certain documents.
