Manveer shines

Bangalore: Manveer Singh’s eight-wicket haul helped Himachal Pradesh gain a four-run first-innings lead over Assam in a Cooch Behar Trophy under-19 cricket tournament match, here on Monday.

At the third day’s close, Himachal Pradesh was 17 for no loss in its second innings.

The scores: Himachal Pradesh 237 in 86.1 overs & 17 for no loss in two overs vs. Assam 233 in 78.1 overs (Amit Sinha 71, Diptesh Saha 64, Manveer Singh eight for 51); Mumbai 310 in 141 overs & 40 for two in 23 overs vs. CAB 161 in 84.5 overs (Avilin Ghosh 51, A. Bhowmick 47, Pankaj Jaiswal four for nine).
