Australia fined

MELBOURNE: Australia has been fined for maintaining a slow over-rate during its first Test win against New Zealand at Brisbane.

Match Referee Chris Broad imposed the fine after Ricky Ponting’s side was found to be three overs short of its target when time allowances were taken into consideration, according to an ICC statement here.

Ponting has been fined 30 per cent of his match fee while his players have each received 15 per cent fines. — PTI
