Vatal makes a watery threat

BANGALORE: Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha president Vatal Nagaraj has served an ultimatum on the Government: If it does not take a decision by the end of this year to build 20,000 public toilets in Bangalore, members of his party will convert the roads outside the houses of the Chief Minister and other ministers into a public urinal on January 1, 2009.

Mr. Nagaraj told presspersons here on Monday that he would personally inaugurate the campaign by “relieving” himself in front of Raj Bhavan.

He said there were only around 500 public toilets in the State. It was said that citizens of a country that boasted several billionaires were forced to use roads and open spaces as toilets, he added. — Special Correspondent
