15 bus passengers injured in collision

Chitradurga: Fifteen people, including three MLAs from Bijapur district, were slightly injured when the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation bus in which they were travelling collided with a lorry and overturned. The accident occurred near Imangala village in Hiriyur taluk in the early hours of Monday.

The MLAs Ramesh Bhusur, Vithal Katakdonda and S.S. Bagali were on their way to Bangalore to attend a legislators’ meeting convened by Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa.

The driver of the lorry, which fell into a ditch by the side of the road, also escaped with minor injuries. — Staff Correspondent
