United they fight: Residents of Chandrasudeswarar Hills staging a demonstration in front of the Hosur taluk office on Monday.
HOSUR: More than 1,000 people including 700 women took out a rally from Chandrasudeswarar Hills to Hosur taluk office on Monday and staged a demonstration demanding that the administration give pattas to the Pymas land they are living and cultivating for the last several decades.
The agitation was organised by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and led by Harur MLA P. Dilli Babu.
Residents of Parvathy Nagar, Kalagunte, Seetharam Nagar and Ganapathy Nagar in Chandrasudeswarar Hills and Sanasandiram village in Chennathur panchayat, Mathigiri town, Old Mathigiri, Karnur, Gurupati and MM Nagar, Annai Sathya Nagar, Bharathi Nagar, Desiga Nagar in Moopandapalli Panchayat and Bagalur Bus Stand took part in the rally and demonstration.
As there is a ban on issuance of patta in Hosur in view of the upcoming Special Economic Zone and Information Technology Park, pattas have not been issued to more than 5,000 acres of Pymas land. The residents along with the MLA and CPI (M) cadres staged the demonstration at the taluk office. Tahsildhar Subramani received the petition from them.
