Telugu Desam MLA warns KCR

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: P.V. Krishna Rao, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA of Kovvur in West Godavari, has warned Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) president K. Chandrasekhar Rao that the people of Telangana would not forgive him if he took any steps that led to the dilution of separate Telangana movement.

In a press release here, Mr. Rao also said there was the imminent threat of the movement watering down in the event of the TRS entering into an alliance with the Congress.

In fact, the Congress firmly believed that the TRS would crave for a tie up with the former if it promised Statehood to Telangana immediately after the next elections.

The TRS chief had already stated that he was prepared to go with the Congress if it conceded the demand. The TDP MLA said the Congress saw to it in the past that the separate Telangana movement fizzled out by getting the M. Channa Reddy led Telangana Praja Samiti merge with it.

The Congress would repeat the strategy by using the TRS president as a pawn.
