No traffic will be allowed from Jhandewalan and Ranjit Singh Marg towards Ajmeri Gate after 11-30 am NEW DELHI: Traffic restrictions have been imposed in view of a religious procession being taken out by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee from Red Fort to Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib on Monday. According to the police, no traffic will be allowed from Jhandewalan roundabout and Ranjit Singh Marg-Jawaharlal Nehru Marg light-point towards Ajmeri Gate after 11-30 a.m. Vehicular movement will not be allowed towards Connaught Place from Mandir Marg and Panchkuian Road after 2 p.m.; and towards Connaught Place from General Post Office after 3 p.m. No buses will be allowed towards the RML Hospital roundabout from S.P. Marg and Gyarah Murti after 4 p.m. Buses going from West to East Delhi will be diverted from the Shankar Road roundabout towards Simon Bolivar Marg on Ridge Road, those going from West and Central Delhi to the New Delhi railway station, Shivaji Stadium, Ajmeri Gate and Kamla Market will terminate at Jhandewalan roundabout and return to Aram Bagh. Buses coming from Central Delhi for Central Secretariat, South Delhi and other places will have to take Faiz Road-Link Road roundabout and upper Ridge Road. Routes curtailedBuses coming from the trans-Yamuna area via ITO bridge bound for the New Delhi railway station will be stopped at Jawaharlal Nehru Marg – Ranjit Singh Marg. Buses going from South to North will be diverted from the Police Headquarters towards I.P. Marg, Ring Road and Boulevard Road, and vice-versa. No commercial vehicles will be allowed on Ring Road between Ashram Chowk and Chandgi Ram, Subhash Marg, SPM Marg, Naya Bazar and Desh Bandhu Gupta Road. Vehicles going towards North from South can take Ashram Chowk- Ring Road-Dhaula Kuan-Punjabi Bagh-Azad pur, and vice versa. Commuters have been advised to avoid Paharganj, Connaught Place and Karol Bagh after 3 p.m. Those going to the New Delhi railway station should use the Ajmeri Gate side. People have also been urged to avoid Desh Bandhu Gupta Road between the Jhandewalan roundabout and Ajmeri Gate, Panchukuian Road, Jawaharlal Nehru Marg roundabout and Minto Road after 11 a.m. They have been advised to take ‘C’-Hexagon, Akbar Road, Teen Murti Marg, Shanti Path and Ridge Road to go from East to West Delhi. Those going from South to North Delhi, and vice versa, motorists should use Ring Road.
