MYSORE: A seminar on industrial applications of radioactivity and ionising radiation was held here on Saturday under the auspices of the Indian Nuclear Society (Mysore branch) and Sri Jayacahamrajendra College of Engineering. ‘Powerful tools’The objective of the seminar was to create greater awareness about radioactivity and ionising radiation, which were powerful tools finding applications in medicine, industry, agriculture and research, according to a press release. V. Venugopal, Director, Radiochemistry and Isotope Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, and Vice-President of the Indian Nuclear Society, inaugurated the seminar. M.H. Dhananjaya, Director (Technical) and JSS Mahavidyapeetha; T.K. Bera, Project Director, Rare Material Plant, were the chief guests.
