TUTICORIN: Minister for Agriculture Veerapandi S. Arumugam inaugurated a new building of the regulated market at Pannaparai near Sathankulam on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that farmers could make use of the new building to store agricultural produce and enhance their sale. At the regulated market, officials would make necessary arrangements for the sale of agricultural produce without commission. A booklet on new farm implements was released by the Minister. He said identity cards of Farmers’ Welfare Board had been issued to 1.68 crore persons. Assembly Speaker R. Avudaiappan said that Rs. 75 lakh had been spent on construction of the regulated market building.
