‘State ignoring workers welfare’

HYDERABAD: The AP Building and Other Construction Workers’ Union has criticised the government’s announcement that the Welfare Board was implementing measures, without finalising the names of workers’ representatives and allotting ID cards. R. Kotam Raju, president, in a statement ridiculed the announcement even after 20 months of formation of the board.

He demanded immediate welfare measures for about two crore workersand sanction of ex-gratia for those killed or injured in accidents. –Special Correspondent
