Big win for Tamil Nadu

VIJAYAWADA: T. Kamini (67) and Niranjana (four for 22) helped Tamil Nadu beat Kerala by eight wickets in the South Zone senior women’s one-day cricket tournament at Anantapur on Saturday.

In other matches, Goa defeated Andhra by 53 runs, while Hyderabad scored a five-wicket win over Karnatakata. The tournament resumes on Tuesday after a two-day break.

The scores: Kerala 119 in 50 overs (R.S. Saranya 45, Niranjana four for 22) lost to Tamil Nadu 120 for two in 23.2 overs (T. Kamini 67).

Karnataka 147 in 49.4 overs (Karuna Jain 63, Sravanti Naidu five for 18, Rajini four for 11) lost to Hyderabad 149 for five in 38.5 overs (Mamata 53).

Goa 148 in 49.4 overs (Resha Rawal 53) bt Andhra 95 in 31.2 overs (Shilpa four for nine). — Principal Correspondent
