Students should be encouraged to think: experts

KOCHI: Information technology might be an integral part of the school education system. But students should be also encouraged to think, said speakers at the Principals’ seminar organised by Extramarks.com in Kochi on Saturday.

Sati Ramachandran, Principal of Toc-H Public School at Vyttila, said that teachers have to inculcate the ability to think among the students. T. R. Gopalakrishnan, Editor-in-charge of The Week, said that internet takes away the joy of learning. Elaborating on the initiatives made by Extramarks.com, Poonam Singh Jamwal, Chief Marketing Officer, said that Extramarks.com provides educational support for the sustained development of students between Class VI and XII in CBSE schools. Mini Ulanat, System Manager at Cochin University of Science and Technology, and Radha Madhav, Founder Director of Expert Information Technology Pvt Ltd of NIIT Ltd, were among the speakers.
