2 youths break into house, misleading woman

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: Two youths gave false information to a housewife at Perungudi that her husband had died in a road accident. As the woman went running towards the scene of accident, the accused walked into the house and decamped with Rs.1 lakh in cash and eight sovereigns of gold jewellery.

The theft was reported from the house on Rajiv Gandhi Nagar on Saturday. The police said the accused told Chinnaponnu (36) that her husband Seetharaman met with an accident. Crying, she started running towards Sai Nagar where the accused told her the accident took place. On enquiries, Chinnaponnu realised that the information was not correct.
