Two held for driver’s murder

BANGALORE: A taxi driver attached to a BPO was kidnapped from the city and murdered near Bellary on November 1. But the incident has come to light only on Saturday.

The victim was identified as Babu (25) of Srinagar in city. The J.P. Nagar police have arrested three men in this regard. They are Narasimhulu (25), Pavan (20) and Chand Pasha (27), residents of Junagarapalli near Kalyana Durga in Ananthpur district.

Narasimhulu, a resident of Hongasandra here and a driver, was the kingpin. He and the victim were friends and recently Babu had purchased a new vehicle. Narasimhulu wanted to steal that vehicle with the help of the other two.

On October 31, he hired Babu’s vehicle to Bellary and allegedly strangulated him to death at Rampur near Bellary. The three then smashed Babu’s head and threw his body in a vacant land. They tried to sell the vehicle in Bellary.

They took the vehicle to Kalyana Durga. There a customer noticed a wireless system and alerted the police.

Babu got married one year ago and his wife was delivered of a girl one month ago.
