Salgaocar wins

BANGALORE: Former champion Salgaocar Sports Club, Goa, having to come through the qualifying rounds this time, eked out a 2-1 win over BEML and booked a place in the Group ‘A’ final of the preliminary round of the 30th Federation Cup football tournament here on Saturday.

Salgaocar will clash with SBT on Monday and the winner will join 12 seeded teams and three other qualifiers in the tournament proper beginning at Kolkata on Dec. 3.
