KOCHI: A Bill aimed at the holistic development of the fishing community will be tabled during the forthcoming Assembly session starting on Monday, Fisheries Minister S. Sarma has said. Inaugurating a fish-landing centre at Kalamukku, he said the draft Bill was ready. Mr. Sarma said the fish-landing centre was being completed ahead of schedule. Mr. Sarma said the landing centre at Vypeen could be converted into a mini-fishing harbour provided the Cochin Port Trust (CPT) did not oppose such a proposal. He said those dependent on fishing would be considered as living below poverty line. — Staff Reporter
