Erode
Hoardings of advertisers who had complied with the rules and paid taxes were also removed, they complain ERODE: The Federation of All Trade Associations of Erode District has criticised the district administration for removing advertisement boards and hoardings in violation of a Madras High Court order. In a resolution passed at the trade body’s recent meeting, the traders have said that it was sad that the district administration and Highways Department had without intimation removed the sign boards and hoardings of advertisers who had complied with the rule and paid taxes. The advertisers who had permission to put up the boards till 2010 were undergoing loss because of the district administration’s action, the resolution says and adds that in future nobody would come forward to advertise. In the resolution the traders have asked the Government Hospital administration to put to use the MRI Scan, which the State Government gave recently. On the economic front, the traders have urged the Union Government to bring down fuel prices and asked the Finance Ministry to restore the duty drawback rate to 11 per cent. Other resolutions of the trade body include rescheduling term loan repayment for industries, construction of a median on Cauvery Road from Krishna Theatre to River Cauvery bridge, and deletion of a clause in the traders welfare board rules to facilitate married children of deceased members to claim money.
