Jewellery stolen

CHENNAI: About 35 sovereigns of gold jewellery were reported missing from a house in Kothawal Chavadi here on Friday.

Police said Ramanlal (52) of Rajasthan, working in a textile shop in Flower Bazaar, lodged a complaint that he had left for work after locking the house on Thursday. At 3 p.m., a neighbour called him to inform that the house was found open. When he rushed home, he found the almirah ransacked and the jewellery missing. The Kothawal Chavadi police are investigating.
