Girideepam wins opener
KOCHI: The host Girideepam HSS boys defeated Sacred Heart HSS (Thevara) 55-33 in the 18th Girideepam all-India inter-school basketball tournament opener at the Girideepam Bethany floodlit court here on Friday.
V.N. Vasavan, MLA, inaugurated the tournament.
The results:
Boys: Girideepam HSS, Kottayam 55 (Lijin John 23, Jithu Varghese 11) bt SH HSS, Thevara 33 (Bronson Bernard 17); SC Seminary HSS, Thiruvalla 33 (Arun Joseph 14, Jijo Appachan 10) bt Lourde PS, Kottayam 17 (Jose Mathew 10).
Girls: Mount Carmel HSS, Kottayam 22 (Lea Lidya 10) bt Girideepam HSS, Kottayam 12; Presentation HSS, Kozhikode 32 (Sangeeetha 10, Priyanka 10) bt St Joseph’s HSS, Alappuzha 29 (Greeshma Riya 10).
