Mar Ivanios College ‘A’ retains title
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Mar Ivanios College ‘A’ retained the title in the Mar Ivanios Trophy inter-Collegiate basketball tournament at the Mar Ivanios floodlit courts, here on Friday.
In the final, Mar Ivanios crushed Sree Kerala Varma College (Thrissur) 74-47 after leading 57-41 at half-time.
Ajeeth Sugunan top-scored for the winner with 20 points and was supported well by Albin Baby (17) and V.G. Ajith (16). For SKVC, international Eudric Perera did the bulk of scoring with 22 points.
The results: Final: Mar Ivanios ‘A’ 74 (Ajeeth Sugunan 20, Albin Baby 17, V.G. Ajith 16,) bt Sree Kerala Varma College (Thrissur) 47 (Eudric Perera 22).
Semifinal: Sree Kerala Varma College 75 (Eudric Perera 20, Jijo 17) bt SB College (Changanacherry) 70 (Basil Philip 25, Praveen 15).
