TIRUMALA: Sending warning signals to all hoteliers in Tirumala, TTD Executive Officer K. V. Ramanachary on Friday ordered the ‘seizure’ of a hotel located opposite the Narayanagiri gardens for allegedly selling food items at exorbitant rates. Reacting to several complaints that the hotel was taxing devotees with higher rates for the food items Mr. Ramanachary personally paid a surprise visit to the hotel and found the complaints to be true. To his utter dismay he also found that there was no comparison between the rates displayed by the management and the rates actually charged. Taking a serious view, he directed the health and vigilance wing to immediately issue orders for the closure of the hotel.
