Veerapandi Arumugam elected

SALEM: Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam has been unanimously elected DMK Salem district secretary for the eighth time in succession.

He is holding the post since 1974. Dr. Soodamani has been elected presidium chairman of the district unit in the organisational polls held here. Sivalingam, Sundaram and Annapoorani are deputy secretaries. Gopal is the treasurer.

S.D. Kalaiamuthan has been elected Salem Urban District Secretary while G.K. Subash was elected presidium chairman. Gunasekaran, Murali and Karthikamani were elected urban district deputy secretaries, while Anwar is the treasurer. — Special Correspondent
