Dempo downs Md. Sporting

KOLKATA: Dempo Sports Club carried its winning ways to the Salt Lake Stadium to subdue Mohammedan Sporting by a two first-half goals in a ninth round match of the ONGC I-League here on Thursday.

Up by goals from Anthony Pereira (8th) and Ranty Martins (39th), Dempo lifted itself to 14 points as Sporting stayed on nine points. Injuries to Mike Okoro and Theodore Wrobeh proved to be the local side’s major setback as Dempo made the most of their absence. — Special Correspondent
